புகழ்பெற்ற லேப்டாப் தயாரிப்பாளர்களான ஏசர் கம்பெனி Ransomware attack காரணாமாய் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த மாதத்தில் மைக்ரோசாப்ட் எக்சேஞ் சர்வரில் இருந்த ஒரு குறைப்பாடு காரணமாய் பல்வேறு நாடுகளில் உள்ள பல கம்பெனிகளின் சர்வர்கள் ஹேக் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஆனாலும் இது வரையில் இந்த அளவிற்கு யாரும் அமவுண்ட் கேட்கவில்லை. அவர்கள் கேக்கும் 50 மில்லியன் டாலர் தரப்படாவிட்டால் அவர்கள் ஹேக் செய்து கைப்பற்றியுள்ள டேட்டாவினை விற்கப்போவதாக கூறியுள்ளனர்.
இந்த Ransomware attack இன் பின்னால் REvil என்ற ஹேக்கிங் குழு உள்ளதாக தெரியவந்துள்ளது. இவர்கள் ஹேக் செய்ததற்கு சாட்சியாக அவர்கள் சர்வரில் இருந்து எடுக்கப்பட்டதாக சில டேட்டாவின் ஸ்க்ரீன்ஷாட் பகிரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த உலகளாவிய தாக்குதலில் இந்தியாவிலும் சில நிறுவனங்கள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது. ஆனாலும் அதுகுறித்த விரிவான தகவல்கள் இல்லை. தாக்குதலுக்கான நிறுவனங்களில் 17 % அமெரிக்காவில் உள்ளன. இந்த தாக்குதலில் இருந்து காத்துக்கொள்ள ஏற்கனவே மைக்ரோசாப்ட் நிறுவனம் செக்யூரிட்டி பேட்ச் ரிலீஸ் செய்துள்ளது.
