iPhone wifi bug – may lose Wifi Permanently

Normally, iOS is relatively bug free when compared to Android. Apple takes enormous pain in order to provide bug free environment for the users through its products. But now a weird bug has been detected in the iphone which may break your mobile’s wifi connectivity permanently. This “iPhone wifi bug” was deducted by an user when he tried to connect to his own wifi hotspot named “%p%s%s%s%s%n” and has been tested and found true by bleeping computer.

iPhone wifi bug – What is the issue

When the users tried connect to any wifi network which has weird names as the mentioned above, iphone lose its wifi connectivity permanently. Even restarting the mobile or renaming the SSID of the Wireless network does not solve the issue and since it has been found only, it will take some time for Apple to work on the fix and release the same through updated. This bug was found in both iOS 14.4.2 & 14.6. Once they try connecting to the strangely named wireless network, they even lose the connection to their regular wireless connection.

workaround to fix the issue

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone, select General.
  2. Under General select Reset.
  3. You will now be at the Reset screen, where you can reset various features of iOS or the device itself. 

    ​​​​​​​At this screen, select the ‘Reset Network Settings’ option and confirm you would like to continue when asked.
  4. The device will now restart and reset all of your network settings back to factory default. Once it has restarted, enter your passcode, and you can reconfigure your Wi-Fi settings again.
