Google has announced that now people in US can send money via Google pay to other users in abroad. Although, now it has been limited to only to 2 countries, India and Singapore, they have said the scope will be increased before the end of the year. Integration of Western Union and Wise has enabled this option. As per the blog post by google, by the end of the year US users can send money through Western Union for 200 countries and 80 countries via Wise.
Steps to send money abroad
As per google,
To send money internationally, start by searching for the Google Pay user you want to send money to, tap “Pay,” and select either Western Union or Wise. From there, you simply follow the steps to complete the payment. From now until June 16, Western Union will offer unlimited free transfers when sending money with Google Pay, and Wise will make the first transfer free for new customers on transfers up to $500.
Do remember that, only US customers can send it to India and not the reverse.
