After the success of Tik-tok and other short video uploading apps, major social media apps like YouTube and Facebook are trying to catch up with the app and earn more users and revenue through that. Most of knows that short video service of Youtube is call Youtube shorts and it is available in youtube app itself. Users does not have to download any separate app for creating and uploading the short videos.
Previously, YouTube shorts followed same layout as that of normal YouTube videos and now YouTube has decided to change the layout and brought in the layout that resembles tik-tok and Facebook / Instagram reels. Now users can view the video in the full screen as shown in the image 3. All the controls like share, Like, dislike and comments have been moved to right hand side of the screen.
Also sitting on the top right corner is camera icon. If you want to create a short video you can click on the same. It will ask you to allow permissions to use camera and record audio. Once done, you can either create a new video or upload already created video. One can also find numerous controls like add audio to enhance the video in Youtube shorts.
