Facebook has announced they are working on new audio-focused products and will be launching virtual Rooms where people can discuss with their friends and the second product is Soundbites which can be shared in their timeline like how they are sharing videos / photos.
In a blog post on Monday they have announced that they will be bringing the Audio tools that will help in creating Soundbites. They also added that, it will be within the existing Facebook App and not any separate App. They are going to start releasing the feature in Staged manner which means they will first release the feature for the content creators and then slowly release to all the users over the next few months.
Second product they have written in the post is “Podcasts”. This is what they have told about the same
While we’re big believers in the power of short-form audio, we also know that some stories and conversations deserve more airtime. More than 170 million people are already connected to hundreds of thousands of podcast pages on Facebook, and more than 35 million people are members of fan groups around podcasts — but until now, you had to leave the Facebook app to listen to these episodes. Within the next few months, you’ll be able to listen to podcasts directly on the Facebook app — both while using the app or when the app is backgrounded. And because it’s still hard to discover podcasts you like, we will help you easily find new podcasts and episodes based on your interests, comment on them and recommend them to your friends. And podcast creators will be able to reach and connect with new listeners — all directly within the Facebook app.
Third Voice product they are going to bring in is “Live Audio Rooms”. This product is going to be live for all the users by US summer according to the post. This feature will be released to the Facebook groups and communities where people can do the discussion in voice rather than through text. Gradually it will be rolled out to public figures and to all the end users.
Voice posts and Voice discussion is going to be the next biggest thing in the social media. Clubhouse App is the pioneer in this format and soon Twitter also picked up. Now, Facebook is going to bring in Soundbites and other items. Social media users are going to have great fun in coming months.
